Pre-K-Grade 3

Sundays 9:30am-12noon

Pre-school through third grade classes are hands-on, interactive, and engaging. Students participate in storytelling, art, music and mitzvah projects, as they learn about Judaism and the Jewish calendar, and begin to develop their Jewish identities. They learn Hebrew letters and vowels, on their way to reading words and sentences.

Grades 4-7

Sundays 9:30am-12noon; Tuesday 4pm-5:30pm

Fourth through seventh grade students study ethics, Torah, Israel, history and lifecycles. They also participate in a rigorous Hebrew program which prepares them to lead the congregation in prayer. Sixth graders study history and Jewish values to instill in them a proud sense of Jewish identity, and to encourage them to be come mentchen (“good people”). Seventh graders explore ethics and the difficult and important themes of the Holocaust, (particularly the resistance of Jews and Gentiles) and how these themes can move them to take action to repair the world. They also work on individual mitzvah projects.

CMI High

Eighth through twelfth graders can enroll in our High School program. CMI High classes meet either once a month on Sunday afternoons, or for a series of consecutive sessions. The program consists of 6-session modules, focused on topics of interest to Jewish teens. The program is designed to engage high schoolers in Judaism and Jewish learning in an active and meaningful way. Topics have included ethics, modern social issues, food, and the environment.
