The Peter C. Hereld House for Jewish Life at Quinnipiac serves as the catalyst for Jewish life on Quinnipiac University's campus. The goal is to offer students an opportunity to share personal customs and traditions with our campus Jewish community.

Quinnipiac University's Peter C. Hereld House for Jewish Life serves as the catalyst for Jewish life on campus. The goal is to offer students an opportunity to share personal customs and traditions with our campus Jewish community, while broadening the feeling of friendship and family. We strive to assist students in creating a medium between Judaism and daily life through participation in Jewish events such as Shabbat, festivals and High Holy Day services.

Quinnipiac has approximately 350 Jewish students, many of whom are members of the house, which is open to all students interested in social and religious events about Jewish heritage. The house coordinates religious services, holiday parties and Shabbat dinners and services. Worship services are held on selected Fridays throughout the school year.

As an organization, we make an annual contribution to the local Hamden Food Pantry--fulfilling our obligation to be part of our larger community as well as heal our world to the best of our ability.

Rabbi Reena Judd was ordained from the Reform Movements Seminary: Hebrew Union College - Jewish Institute of Religion, 20 years ago and has shepherded Quinnipiac's Jewish student-population for the past 10 years.

The Peter C. Hereld House for Jewish Life, located at 560 New Road, is in close proximity to the heart of campus. The house--newly renovated in Fall 2012--is equipped with wireless access and features a living room with a fireplace and television, a rabbi's study, a deck and two conference rooms. The house offers a welcoming and comfortable environment that is very much a home away from home for Jewish students.
