Sydney Perry, Rachel Light, and artist Aviva Klein will discuss the issue of agunot, or "chained women." Agunot refers to Orthodox Jewish women who are unable to remarry because their husbands will not grant them a halakhic divorce document called a "gett". This panel is intended to accompany Aviva Klein's photographic portrait exhibit "In the Shadows," which will be on view at the JCC from May 4 onward.
