NEW DATE: Presentation by Jennifer Quaye-Hudson, Advocacy Director of Open Communities Alliance (OCA). At this Shabbat Schmooze, Shabbat rules will be observed.
Founded in 2013, OCA is a civil rights organization that works to redress generations of discriminatory actions and policies based on race, ethnicity, and income in order to create open and inclusive housing opportunities in historically exclusionary communities.
OCA researches and documents root causes of segregation, explores solutions and best practices, and advocates for change. Their vision is for all people in Connecticut – regardless of race, ethnicity, or income – to have fair and equitable access to quality affordable housing options in an open, inclusive, and well-resourced community of their choice.
