On Sunday, October 23 rd , at noon, Congregation Or Shalom invites your pets to join us for a “Blessing of the Animals in Our Lives!” The event will take place in front of the Synagogue: 205 Old Grassy Hill Road, Orange.

Rabbi Wainhaus explained: “This weekend, the story of the creation of the world will be heard in synagogues everywhere. Once again, we’ll hear the majestic words, “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth… And God said, ‘Let the earth bring forth living creatures according to their kinds.” What better time to celebrate the gift of the animals in our lives than this weekend!”

Synagogue President Bob Spaulding added: “Please come with your leashed or caged pets, be they cats, dogs, birds, fish or turtles! Children are especially encouraged to attend with their parents.”

Since this program will take place outdoors, please dress appropriately. (In the event of inclement weather, we’ll hold this event in our social hall.)
