Communal Purim Seudah, or festive meal, which will also include megilla readings and entertainment, will be taking place at the JCC of Greater New Haven on Purim Day, Thursday, March 24th. This is an independent collaborative community event, and seven synagogues have signed up so far: Congregation Bikur Cholim Sheveth Achim of New Haven, Congregation B'nai Jacob of Woodbridge, Congregation Or Shalom of Orange, Temple Beth David of Cheshire, Temple Beth Sholom of Hamden, Temple Emanuel of Orange, Westville Synagogue of New Haven.  The event is open to the entire Greater New Haven Jewish Community, and individuals can attend even if their synagogue is not an official participant.

There will be 3 separate afternoon megilla readings at 5:15 pm in 3 different small rooms: traditional orthodox, women’s, and egalitarian, and then we will all join together at 6:15 pm in a large room for the kosher, catered meal, where there will be a DJ for entertainment/kids’ programming.  Reservations are required in advance with checks payable to The Westville Synagogue, 74 W. Prospect Street, New Haven, CT 06515.  Please write “Purim Seudah” in the memo line.  Along with your check, for each family or household attending, please list an address, phone number, and email address as well as the names of the individuals attending.

Tickets:

Early bird Registration (deadline: Tuesday, February 16th): $24 per adult or teen (ages 11+), $14 per child (ages 5-10), no charge for children under age 5;

Late Registration (deadline: Tuesday, March 15th): $30 per adult or teen (ages 11+), $20 per child (ages 5-10), no charge for children under age 5.  We are in need of more individuals to help with megilla readings, to serve on the planning committee, and to help out on the day of the event.
