On Yom Kippur, October 2, 2025, there will be a community Yizkor memorial service at Congregation Or Shalom beginning at 4:00 PM. Attendance is free and open to the public.

Yizkor, a Hebrew word meaning "Remember," is not only the opening word of the prayer but also its central theme. This prayer serves to recall the souls of deceased relatives and friends. It is said four times during the year: the last day of Passover, the second day of Shavuot, Shemini Atzeret, and Yom Kippur.

Congregation Or Shalom is an egalitarian Conservative synagogue serving the Jewish community in Orange, CT and surrounding towns. We are dedicated to our vision statement: "Open minds, open hearts, open doors." With over 200 families, we provide a wide range of religious, educational, and social programs for all ages. Visitors are always welcome! The synagogue's address is 205 Old Grassy Hill Road, Orange, CT 06477. For more information, call us at 203.799.2341 or email us at [email protected].
