The Or Shalom Book Group will meet on May 14th at 7 pm on Zoom to discuss The Art Spy: The Extraordinary Untold Tale of WWII Resistance Hero Rose Valland by Michelle Young. Joan Zamore will lead the discussion.
The Art Spy is a true account of Rose Valland's fight against art theft in WWII Paris. Based on troves of previously undiscovered documents, the book documents how an unlikely heroine infiltrated the Nazi leadership to save the world's most treasured masterpieces. She came face to face with Hermann Göring, passed crucial information to the Resistance network, and deliberately put herself in harm’s way to protect her museum and her staff, facing death during the last hours of Liberation Day.
