Tubyez Cropper, Community Engagement Program Manager at the Beinecke Rare Book and Manuscript Library, delivers a fascinating introduction to the Yale and Slavery project. The history of 18th - 20th century New Haven, CT includes the groundbreaking story of the first HBCU (Historically Black College and University) in the nation in 1831, the nation's first self-published fugitive slave, 20th century black Yale graduates and more of the shocking foundation of Yale and New Haven.

In conjunction with the ILR, the JCC is co-sponsoring a program on Slavery and Yale.
