Register in advance. Join jHaven, the Jewish Federation's under-45 division, for a special hybrid “seder” to celebrate Tu B'shvat, the Jewish “new year for trees,” and explore its contemporary relevance to our lives and community.
What is a Tu B'shvat seder? It is a Kabbalistic tradition based on the Pesach seder that helps us to explore our connectionto the land, to our communities, to the world/each other and to ourselves — all through the medium of food, wine andconversation. We will also take this opportunity to explore our community’s responsibilities around issues ofenvironmentalism and sustainability, and ways we can commit to a “greening” our community for the future.
Virtual participants who register by Friday, January 7** will receive a FREE gift bag, complete with all the ingredients you’ll need to participate in the seder remotely: two small bottles of kosher wine or grape juice (one red, one white), fresh fruits and nuts, a copy of the “haggadah” and some added surprises!
Gift bags can be delivered in person (socially distanced and wearing a mask) by Derek Holodak on Thursday, January 13 or picked up at the Beckerman Lender Jewish Community Building between Monday, January 10 and Friday, January 14.
