World-renowned keyboardist and solo artist Jay Rowe from Milford, CT will be performing in the JCC livingroom on Wednesday, April 1. Jay Rowe is pianist/keyboardist from Milford, Connecticut. He received a bachelor of music degree from New England Conservatory of Music in Boston, Massachusetts in 1985. Since then he has performed and recorded with artists such as Marion Meadows, Nelson Rangell, Ken Navarro, Chieli Minucci and Special EFX, Chuck Loeb, Paul Jackson jr., Jeff Kashiwa, Kim Waters, Eric Darius, Rick Braun, Bobby Caldwell, Phil Perry and Pat Dinizio. He performs regularly at many major jazz festivals in the United States and has also performed at festivals in Portugal, Mexico, Brazil, Chile, South Africa and Indonesia. As a solo artist, he has recorded and released four cds "A Dream I Had"(1994), "Jay Walking"(1997), "Laugh Out Loud" (2001) and "Red, Hot and Smooth" (2006) and "Live At Daniel Street"(2011). He is also the founder of Smooth Jazz For Scholars Inc. a non-profit organization which puts on fund raising concerts to raise money for public school music education.
Join us in the Living Room for our Live Jazz Series, taking place on the first and third Wednesdays of every month from January through April 2015. We'll be listening to local jazz musicians brought to us through Blue Plate Radio, a popular online jazz station. The musicians will play from 5-7 pm.
