Marc Chagall's career as a visual artist and poet was deeply affected by many of the monumental historical developments of the twentieth century (Russian Revolustion, World Wars, Holocaust and State of Israel). He remained influenced by his Hasidic upbringing and the cohesive Jewish life of his native Vitebsk. Dr. Gary Plotke will survey of works from various periods of his life and the influences which inspired them (paintings, etchings, lithographs, tapestries, stained glass windows and mosaics, including paintings from his Musee National Message Biblique). The presentation will be via ZOOM. Contact synagogue to register.
