Congregation Mishkan Israel will hold its annual Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. Interfaith Service on Friday, January 16, at 7:30 p.m. This year’s guest speaker is Rabbi David Saperstein, who will be speaking on Dr. King's message for today. 18 clergy from different faiths and beliefs will be joining the service. This event is also Congregation Mishkan Israel 175th Anniversary kickoff event.

Rabbi Saperstein is the newly appointed Ambassador-at-Large for International Religious Freedom. Selected by Newsweek magazine in 2009 as the most influential rabbi in the country and described in a Washington Post profile as the "quintessential religious lobbyist on Capitol Hill," for the last 40 years Rabbi David Saperstein has represented the Reform Jewish Movement to Congress and the Administration as the Director of the Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism (RAC).

The event is free and open to the community.
