Join the Nu Haven Kapelye as we host a great day of music with Frank London, the composer, band leader, and founder of the Grammy award winning Klezmatics. The day will begin with a Klezmer workshop from 1:00-3:00. Frank will lead members of the Nu Haven Kapelye and any other interested musicians in an afternoon of Klezmer interpretation and improvisation. Whether you are an experienced Klezmer musician or someone who is just curious, this is going to be an experience you do not want to miss. Musicians of all ages and abilities are encouraged to participate. Membership in the Nu Haven Kapelye is not required to participate. Workshop attendees, please bring your instrument and a music stand.
Then, at 5:30, Frank will be featured in concert with the Nu Haven Kapelye. We’ll be playing a program that will feature the music Frank has taught us that day along with pieces from the Nu Haven Kapelye repertoire that Frank has composed and/or recorded. It will be an exciting performance and an opportunity to demonstrate how Klezmer and improvisation can work in a big band/orchestral setting.
Ticket prices are: Workshop + Concert $30; Concert only $20, Seniors & Students $15, Children 11 & under free
