Temple Emanuel Welcomes the CT Z’mirah Chorale

7:30PM - 8:30PM

Temple Emanuel of Greater New Haven 150 Derby Avenue
Orange, CT 06477

On June 2 Sabbath services will be led by the Connecticut Z'mirah Chorale. Director Kevin Mack and the Chorale will lead the services, followed by a performance of 500 years of Jewish Music: From Ladino to Yiddish to Broadway.

CT Z’mirah is a small statewide group of singers interested in preserving folk songs and liturgical music of our people’s experience. Repertory ranges from complex modern compositions and classical Reform works of Shabbat and High Holiday liturgies to Hebrew, Yiddish, Ladino and Israeli folk and work songs.

Since 2006 Z’mirah has performed in synagogues and homes for the elderly throughout the state. Current membership includes our own Bruce Spiewak, Roger Klinger, and Ben Judd. Kevin Mack directs several choirs and conducts multiple symphony performances around the state.
