Mark Oppenheimer writes the biweekly Beliefs column for The New York Times. He also writes for The New York Times Magazine, The Nation, The Forward, Tablet, and Mother Jones. He is the author of three books, in-cluding Knocking on Heaven’s Door: American Religion in the Age of Coun-terculture and Thirteen and a Day: The Bar and Bat Mitz-vah Across America.


Join us for a live reading from the from the play Bad Jews, followed by a discussion with writer Mark Oppenheimer. Bad Jews, Joshua Harmon’s sav-age comedy about family, faith and legacy follows three cousins and their verbal battle over a family heirloom. The play will be on stage at Long Wharf Theater from Feb 18 to March 22nd. Free tickets are available with your New Haven Library card! Call any branch for more information!
