What is JWLY, YESOD?

JWLY is the acronym for Jewish Women’s’ Leadership Yesod.

Yesod, the Hebrew word for foundation, aptly describes the curriculum. The goal of this initiative is to assist in building a pipeline of excellent volunteer leadership.

By investing in the development of individuals who demonstrate potential, this program will help build a stronger community.

The JWLY curriculum provides an educational program for effective
leadership. Course content merges Judaic studies, business skills, and leadership theory.

The program is interactive and provides participants with the tools to develop their leadership skills.

Course topics are:

  • Orientation/Leadership and Team Building

  • Best Practices; Leadership/Principles of Jewish Leadership

  • What is a Vibrant Jewish Community

  • Jewish Communal Responsibility/World Jewry

  • Governance of a Community

  • Funding the Jewish Community
