Congregation Beth Shalom Rodfe Zedek and the social action committee will host a program to honor and remember Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on Saturday, Jan. 13.
After the 10:30 a.m. Saturday Shabbat service, there will be a showing of the 50-minute film “Joachim Prinz: I Shall Not Be Silent.” The remarkable documentary film is about Rabbi Joachim Prinz, the leading rabbi in 1930’s Berlin, who immigrated to the United States and became one of Dr. King’s closest confidantes. Rabbi Prinz spoke just prior to Dr. King at the march on Washington at the Lincoln Memorial in 1963.
After the film, there will be a discussion. A light lunch and refreshments will be served. This event is open to the public and will be held at Congregation Beth Shalom Rodfe Zedek, 55 E. Kings Highway, Chester.
