JFGNH Statement in Response to the Terrorism in Charlottesville

The Jewish Federations of Greater New Haven is appalled and saddened by the violence in Charlottesville, VA over this past weekend. Displays of hate, bigotry, racism, xenophobia and anti-Semitism by white supremacists, neo-Nazis and fascists have no place in America. We are horrified and sickened by the messages spewed at the rally, and by the deaths and injuries sustained.

We send our condolences to the families of those who have lost their lives over the past two days and wish a speedy recovery to others who have been injured.

We look forward to opportunities to engage with members of the all faith communities and the broader New Haven community as we stand shoulder to shoulder to repel the forces of evil and seek justice, peace and freedom for all Americans.
