Jewish Family Service of Greater New Haven is collecting new school supplies for children and teens whose families use our agency services. We would like to provide for these 100+ children and teens between the ages of 4-17.
The items we are seeking include: new backpacks; crayons (thin and thick ones); one-subject, wide-ruled and college-ruled notebooks; two-pocket folders; pens; child-safe scissors; colored pencils; child-safe pencil sharpeners; water-based markers; white glue sticks, large erasers; loose-leaf notebook paper; construction paper; highlighters, and post-it notes.
Please choose items from the list above. Items we are not accepting are: pencils; rulers; protractors and white-out.
We are currently accepting supplies and will start packing the supply kits for the children by mid-August. Please drop off your supply donations to us by August 10th. Supplies will still be accepted after this time, but ideally we’d love to have as many supplies as we can prior to this date.
The JFS main office, 1440 Whalley Avenue, New Haven (2nd floor) will have a drop off box in the reception area. In addition, donations may be dropped off at the JFS Food Pantry (1st floor) on Wednesdays and Thursdays between 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. If you represent an organization, business or school and you would like to conduct a collection to assist us, please contact shagan@jfsnh.org. Thanks in advance for helping our clients be "Back-to-School" ready.
