Jewish Family Service of Greater New Haven (JFSGNH) is excited to launch a new program called Ken’s Closet, clothing for men and women.
This program honors the memory of the late Ken Sperling, who had a passion for JFSGNH, as well as a clear understanding of how looking presentable positively affects self-esteem.
Through Ken’s Closet, JFSGNH will supply work-ready clothing to clients who need help navigating the challenges of the job market -- with employment as their goal.
Prospective Ken’s Closet clients will be screened through the JFSGNH Social Work Outreach Program (SOS).
“Women’s and Men’s Business Clothes to Corporate Attire” will be collected, sorted and inventoried by Ken’s’ Closet volunteers.
Donation racks were set up at participating area synagogues over the High Holidays.
Alternatively, donations of suits, blouses, slacks, skirts, blazers, dresses (cleaned and on hangers), dress shoes and accessories will be accepted by appointment at the JFSGNH office at 1440 Whalley Avenue, New Haven.
For more information, or to schedule an appointment to drop off a donation, contact: kenscloset@jfsnh. org or call Mara Ginsberg at (203) 389-5599 X119.
