Join JCARR as We Run (and Walk) for Refugees on Sunday, February 9, 2025!

Over the years, we have been thrilled to run into JCARR volunteers, friends and supporters at IRIS's annual Run for Refugees 5K. This year, we've decided to form an official JCARR team for the event!

Join Our Team!
If you're planning to participate in this year's run/walk, why not join the JCARR team? You can opt to join a team as part of the online registration process. Just choose "JCARR" from the drop-down menu to be added to our team roster! To register for Run for Refugees 2025, click here: https://runsignup.com/Race/CT/NewHaven/IRISRunforRefugees.

NOTE: The registration fee goes up after January 10, so make sure you sign up soon!

Show Your Team Spirit!
Whether you're joining us for the 5K run/walk or not, you can show your team spirit by purchasing a JCARR hat! We'll be showing off our hats on race day, but we encourage JCARR friends to wear them around town all winter long! If you'd like to purchase a hat (or if you have any questions), please contact Anna Zonderman (alzonderman@gmail.com) no later than January 8, 2025. The cost is $15 per hat, and our group order will be placed on January 10 to ensure delivery before the event.

Planning to Make a Donation?
We know that many people choose Run for Refugees as an opportunity to donate to IRIS beyond the cost of the registration fee. If you, or others you know, plan to do this, consider making your donation in honor of JCARR by contributing through our team fundraising page! You can access the page here: https://runsignup.com/JCARR.

Please also consider making a donation directly to JCARR, as we prepare to welcome our 10th family in 10 years! Contact Jean Silk (jsilk@jewishnewhaven.org) or make a donation online at: https://jewishfederationofgreaternewha.givingfuel.com/jcarr.

For more information, or if you have any questions, please contact Anna Zonderman (alzonderman@gmail.com) or Susan Millen (smillen179@sbcglobal.net).

Thank you for a decade of unwavering support as we continue the important work of welcoming the stranger. We hope to see you on February 9!
