Like to sing? Listen to Jewish choral music? Join the CT Z’mirah Chorale!

Since the autumn of 2006, the Connecticut Z’mirah Chorale has attracted singers from throughout the state to perform music of interest to Jewish audiences. Their mission is to preserve and share all types of Jewish vocal music, which reflect the rich tapestry of our people’s experience.

Repertory ranges from complex modern compositions and classical Reform works of Shabbat and High Holiday liturgies to Hebrew, Yiddish, Ladino and Israeli folk and work songs, as well as meaningful pieces by non-Jewish composers.

The group, conducted by Kevin Mack, is open to new members, and rehearsals take place on Sundays from 7 to 9 p.m. at Whitney Center in Hamden in the spring and fall.

For information about joining the group, email the Chorale’s President Ben Judd at bjudd9752@sbcglobal.net or Secretary Rhoda Zahler Samuel at rhodasamuel1@gmail. com. If you do not sing but wish to support the continuity of Jewish choral music in our community, you can become a Friend of the CT Z’mirah Chorale, which is a 501 (c) (3). Contact Ben or Rhoda for details.
