Temple Beth Tikvah Welcomes New Cantor, Dr. Leah Cassorla

Temple Beth Tikvah in Madison is thrilled to welcome Dr. Leah Cassorla to the TBT community. We are excited to share that she will be taking the helm at our religious school and will be our new cantorial soloist.  A native Hebrew speaker, Dr. Cassorla was born in Israel and lived there in both childhood and young adulthood. She received her PhD from Florida State University, and comes to us from Alabama A&M University where she has been a professor of English, Rhetoric, and Composition. For several years, she taught at Trinity College in Hartford and has wanted to return to Connecticut. Dr. Cassorla has a deep passion for cultivating and supporting a thriving Jewish community, consistently taking on synagogue roles as religious school teacher, b’nai mitzvah tutor, cantorial soloist, and band leader. She is currently studying at the Academy for Jewish Religion, working toward a dual ordination as a rabbi-cantor. Please join us in giving Dr. Cassorla a warm, Shoreline welcome!
