The Fund Saved Lives and Kept Our Community Safe

At the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic and when Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) supplies were hard to come by, the Jewish Federation and Jewish Foundation of Greater New Haven provided much needed aid to The Towers at Tower Lane through the COVID-19 / Maimonides Response Fund. Jesse Wescott, Director of Operations at The Towers, explains:

"Our grant for PPE came at a time when it was most needed. Because of the Jewish Federation and Jewish Foundation of Greater New Haven’s COVID-19 / Maimonides Response Fund, The Towers was able to supply our residents, private duty aides and staff with life-saving masks, gloves, isolation gowns, face shields, sanitizer and everything necessary to keep our community healthy. Because of the Jewish Federations of North America, we were able to purchase our PPE along with 200 other Jewish communities across the country, which increased our collective buying power and assured that our protective equipment would be delivered safely.

Even better, while awaiting our much needed PPE, The Jewish Federation of Greater New Haven hand delivered face masks and hand sanitizer to make sure we had everything we needed until our supplies arrived.

The COVID-19 / Maimonides Response Fund saved lives and kept our community safe. We are so grateful for the community support we’ve received. It takes a village and we could not have gotten by without the help of our friends and the safety net provided by the COVID-19 / Maimonides Response Fund."
