The Towers Welcomes New President/CEO

On Jan. 17, Gustave (Gus) Keach-Longo joined The Towers as President/CEO.

From the beginning of his career at age 16 as a porter in a Connecticut nursing home, Keach-Longo has always enjoyed working with seniors. His passion for working with seniors grew as he learned how he could make a difference in their lives by getting to know each person and by always putting the person before the task. His visionary thinking, sensitivity and depth of knowledge will help lead The Towers forward as they begin their next 50 years of serving the community.

“As a professional whose practice is the field of aging in Connecticut, I have always admired the reputation of The Towers. I am honored and grateful to be given this opportunity to join this outstanding community and look forward to working alongside the Board of Directors as we start to plan for the future,” said KeachLongo. He holds a master’s in health administration from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and is a licensed Connecticut Nursing Home Administrator. His Ph.D. studies at UCONN focused on human development and family studies with a concentration on gerontology. Previously, he served as the lead in developing new initiatives for senior programs, including a special Connecticut Assisted Living Demonstration Pilot project. He also helped create another special assisted living facility specifically for veterans and worked with the Veterans Administration on the model for services, funding, building design and implementation. Keach-Longo also provided executive leadership of several senior citizen community-based services. In addition, he serves as an adjunct instructor at Tunxis Community College.

The public is invited to meet Gus and share their thoughts on how they can move the community forward together. Contact him at Gus@ towerone.org, or (203) 772-1816, ext. 320.
