Triathlon Training – a great way to cross train and challenge yourself!

The JCC Tri Training Club worked out together three times a week to prepare for the Madison Triathlon held on September 10.  Consisting of swimming, running or walking and indoor cycling the group of 16 participants were committed to the goal of finishing their first Triathlon.  Under the direction of Beth Harrison, Certified Personal Trainer, Triathlon Coach and Lifestyle Health Coach the team pushed beyond what they thought they could do and accomplished a .5 mile ocean swim, 13 mile bike ride and a 3 mile swim.  Here is what a few had to say:

“A tremendous experience!  The feeling of finishing such an event was phenomenal to me and I got into much better shape, ate healthier and ultimately dropped weight.  And the camaraderie the team developed was super!  Our coach (Beth) gave everyone in the group her attention and made us all feel good about this accomplishment, no matter what time we finished. I was so impressed by her enthusiasm for the sport and the way she kept us all informed, safe and motivated!”  Steve Germaine

“Beth is an amazing Coach!  I can’t wait until the next Triathlon when I will conquer this swimming thing!”  Maysa Akbar

Thinking about taking on the challenge?  Here’s a few reasons why you should:

  1. A great way to cross train and impress yourself
  2. For your health
  3. To meet new people with similar goals
  4. For the fun of it
  5. BECAUSE YOU CAN!
