To help convey the urgency of the crisis facing the residents of Sderot, Ashkelon and the region, UJC aired a live 40-minute broadcast from Sapir Collge in Sderot on March 9.
The at-times emotional broadcast was anchored by Leah Stern of the Israel Broadcasting Authority, and included appeals from Sderot-area residents; reports of how the IEC, in cooperation with our partner agencies, provides essential services to the people in the area; and appearances by key officials such as Israel's Minister of Welfare, Social Services and the Diaspora, Isaac Herzog; JAFI Chairman Zev Bielski; JDC CEO Steve Schwager; the Mayor of Sha'ar Hanegev, Alon Shuster, and UJC's IEC Work Group Chair, Toni Young.
